Culture Kings’ Hosier Lane Flagship Store Project
Street-wear retailer, Culture Kings, announced the grand opening of their newest Russell Street store late last year, next to Melbourne’s iconic Forum Theatre. Signing on to a 10-year lease with Colliers International, the two-level, street-wear destination combines the best features of existing stores to create the biggest CK store.
Located in the Paris end of Melbourne, the new store is surrounded by luxury brands such as Chanel, being the first tenant to occupy the previously derelict premises in almost 20 years. Strong Ox, in collaboration with Van Weir Industries, was excited to be part of the project.
The new flagship store backs Hosier Lane, renowned for its graffiti street art mural. “The urban aesthetics of Hosier Lane are in line with the Culture Kings brand, creating a real synergy between the two spaces,” explains Cam Taranto of Colliers.
“The success of the brand has driven Culture Kings to take on a more prominent location at the east end of the CBD, which is renowned for its luxury retail and hospitality, adding another layer to the shopping experience” he added.
The $2.5 million fit-out boasts an indoor basketball court, LED staircase, in-store barbershop and impressive hat wall. Strong Ox was thrilled to fabricate and install all of the glass balustrades, disability handrails, 3 sets of automatic sliding glass doors, and all of the mirrors throughout the store and barber shop.
The grand opening featured a special guest appearance from hip-hop artist, French Montana, where thousands walked through the doors to experience everything the new store had to offer.
